Any Questions?

Is there anything you'd like to ask me?

I'm appearing on WBUR's live public radio show and podcast On Point on Tuesday 10/12 at 10am ET. It will be broadcast on hundreds of NPR stations across the country (and will air live on Connecticut Public Radio).

The producers are looking for voicemails with your comments and questions that can be played on air during the show.

Here's what they're looking for: With everything going on in the world, have you struggled to feel happy lately? And have you even felt that you don’t deserve to be happy? Why?

Tell us your story by leaving a voicemail with your question or comment at 617-353-0683.

And... while we are on the subject, are there any topics you'd like me to cover in upcoming newsletters, leave a comment below this post on Bulletin.

Thanks so much (and sorry for bothering you).

Laurie

The writer with the broken heart is suffering from grief. If we see that a person is greiving we can support that process. It is a journey but one can appreciate the good bittersweet parts while feeling the grief and sadness. On the other side there is…

As I am a cultural specialist, I wonder if the concept of happiness has a cultural dimension?

Great question! There's a lot of work on whether different cultures are happier. Would love to cover this one in a future Bulletin post, so thanks for the suggestion!

I would love to hear about friendships and happiness and how we struggle with them as adults. At least I struggle with friendships as an adult.

I have been reading Epicurus On Happiness. About how friendships are important in life. I seem to have forgotten how to connect to others after staying home all year. My question is how do you do friendships again?

You wrote about vacations. I recently went away for the weekend - a first outing in a long time - and I felt like I forgot how to chill (which sounds silly on some level). Any thoughts on making that transition?

Dr. Santos, After the past many years teaching, studying and podcasting the science of well-being and happiness do you think that you, yourself are happier and does that increased happiness have staying power?

Great question! I actually track my happiness pretty regularly, and I've gotten a lot happier since following all these tips. So this stuff works! Even for me!
